A great idea from Living Rich on the Cheap last week - after cleaning her cupboard tops, she covered her the tops with newspaper before returning her collections.
May be a good time for me to think about thinning out some collectibles.
Shelf # 1
First - the dust and webs
Then the (pictures bottom to top) dried out bugs in Medalta bowl, everything washed and then, returned to top of cupboard.

Ran out of time/energy this week to finish all the cupboard tops, didn't get any further with the cleaning, but you get the idea.
The garden flowers are continuing their sharing - spring flowers have such a lovely progression. Dessert was delicious too.
Thank you Dear Friends for visiting today.

Thanks for the shout out! Easier to spread the work out, I ended up doing it over 2 days myself and didn't have stuff up there. I keep cleaning in spots no one sees lol, but at least I know it is clean.
ReplyDeleteThanks for passing along this idea, Joy. Your garden flowers are lovely! Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm!
ReplyDeleteThat's the awful thing about housework; the only time anyone notices is when you DIDN'T do it! Loved seeing your treasures!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how much dust those top shelves gather! We have our house up for sale and have had to clean from top to bottom. Definitely was a great time to declutter! Love your beautiful flowers! Thanks for sharing with us at The Blogger's Pit Stop!
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea! Thank you only have to dust the lower shelves frequently. I'll have to do that! Your flowers are beautiful! I especially love the yellow roses! Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteHello, great idea and tip! Love the flowers and mosaics! Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy new week!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful yellow rose! I love pretty vintage things but they sure collect dust. I have lots of grass around my house but I still get so much dust! I need to get some boxes to get rid of a few of my 'treasures' soon! Happy week!
ReplyDeleteJoy - this hasn't happened to me lately, because we have had no visitors, but it seems I never notice the cobweb in the visible place until we have guests! Lovely roses …. thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful yellow roses. A great idea about the newspaper giving you a date of the last cleaning. I have never liked cabinets with the open space for just this reason, getting up there and cleaning it. Ugh, such a chore. Be careful if you're on a ladder.
