Such a surprise! I love unexpected flowers. We'd call that a rhodendron here, so funny how plants are called diffrent names in different areas.
Thank you Sue for the correct plant name. Appreciated.Joy
We had one of these in our yard growing up. What nice memories just flooded into my head seeing yours in bloom...thank you!
Lovely to catch those last flowers in the fall. :)
So pretty! That's our state flower, the rhododendron. With the caption of your post, I was expecting you to have found some Greenbrier china with the famous Dorothy Draper rhododendron design, not the real thing! So unusual for this time of year, let alone your region!
I miss rhodos. We have camellias that are now starting to bloom.
Exciting - it's like seeing the last rose of summer!Happy days.Wren x
The blooms on the rhododendron are lovely Joy and you have captured them well. It's always a nice surprise to come upon something beautiful and unexpected in the gardening world!
Thanks for visiting. I read and appreciate all your comments. Joy
