Welcome Fall - and - Cooler Temperatures
(yes there is a project at the end of the thrifted finds)
Just enough orange to remind us that Halloween is October's big theme in many posts - vintage school primer on an amber comport, two Russian stacking dolls and a candle lantern.
I sketched a shape and pulled some chalk type paint from my cabinet, started with green.

A few finds in late September - Westmorland handed sugar, small globe in a brass base, Belleek Ireland vase with shells with pink trim, footed white comport and a vintage oval silver deposit dish.
Just enough orange to remind us that Halloween is October's big theme in many posts - vintage school primer on an amber comport, two Russian stacking dolls and a candle lantern.
Some humour in the carved sailors and Don Harron writing "Jogfree Canada" as Charlie Farquharson, plus brass bells.
Two well used lanterns, the centre one is a signal lantern. The outhouse "Drop in Again" has the bench seat and a roll of tp (actually a short dowel) glued onto the bench.
Next up: Pumpkin Project
Picked up a fish shape that has Cedar Wine Holder Made on Vancouver Island stamped on the back (.25¢ in Thrift Store). After looking at it for awhile I could see a pumpkin.

Picked up a fish shape that has Cedar Wine Holder Made on Vancouver Island stamped on the back (.25¢ in Thrift Store). After looking at it for awhile I could see a pumpkin.
I sketched a shape and pulled some chalk type paint from my cabinet, started with green.
I had a bit of orange left, some shades of green, a yellow, red and a black. I used two narrow paint brushes.
Added some dimension to the 'ground' (greens), the stem (red/black) and the rounded pumpkin (orange/yellow/red) with a green leaf. Used a piece of copper wire for the vines.
Back view of 'fish shape' cedar piece.
Hung the 'pumpkin' on a nail.
Here is the before/after.
It was a bit of fun to paint a pumpkin on a fish shape.
I may try that again.
