After cleaning, painting, waxing and adding a stencil
Before the stool began its transformation
Removed the tacks and the skirt and sticky carpet from legs.
The little stool, made from 3/4" plywood, had a nice mid century fabric under that skirt.
The yellow needed to be washed then sanded especially near the bottom of the legs (lots of splinter edges).
The colour was refreshed with FAT Paint, a chalk-like paint - Tuscan Sun (blue tape to protect the fabric)
then hand sanded and waxed.
It just wanted to be a cottage piece.
Stencilled Cottage then added ASCP clear and dark wax and polished. See the sequence of a stencilled Cottage sign here.
Added a few dahlia for a touch of fall.
A small piece rescued and made useful and pretty again.
Thanks for visiting.
