This post has a bit of Coral, a bit of Art Deco and mostly a nice piece of Ironstone, all recent Estate Sale finds except for a small sauce boat with attached base my Sister gave me at her Daughter's wedding last June and the platter/jug from the thrift store.
Branch coral has very little to do with the ironstone except for its lovely white colour.
The small white lidded sauce dish attached to a base fits in with the smalls on my Welsh Dresser.
After finding this gravy boat with attached saucer I fell in love again with crazed and age stained white ironstone.
Gravy handle from above has a look of a gingerbread man or Stay Puff marshmallow man (remember that movie?) when looking from above to the tab on the handle.
Maastricht Gravy and Underplate, both sides
Closeup of stamp under the gravy boat with attached underplate
I couldn't find any examples on-line showing this style of gravy with attached under plate so, in case others are searching, I am posting the Peter Regouts and Co. Maastricht mark on this gravy and under plate.
The dish and under plate are from the Faience Factory of Petrus (Peter) Regout and Co. of Maastricht Ceramics Company.
Thrift store finds, I think the platter is ironstone, it has USA impressed on the back and has some sturdy weight. The stoneware pitcher just appealed to me, good weight, very smooth satin glaze.
There are a few Pinterest, (one is romantictable.nl different mark) boards that have a sampling of this pattern of antique white dishes. Searching on Pinterest did bring up several examples of similar ironstone.
Although I love vintage ironstone the gravy and under plate are not going to be part of my collection so into my booth it went.
Note: (not this gravy and under plate) the famous Dutch glass and pottery company P. Regout and Co., located in Maastricht, Netherlands was in business from 1834-1969.
The Art Deco frame below was found at the same Estate Sale and a thank you to Graphics Fairy I added a printed sprig of lavender.
This has been a good season for finding interesting collectibles at Estate Sales in the countryside across the river.
Flashback photo from May 19, 2012. Ironstone jug pattern is Nancy.
Below is this weeks 'mystery item' which will be in my next post.
Thank you for visiting.

Simple old pieces that show use for their intended purpose--my love too. I have learned how to remove those stains, though, because not everyone is okay with them.
ReplyDeleteYou find such amazing pieces! Of course, you have a very experienced eye!! Wish I could come browse around in your shop!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy my small but very pretty ironstone collection. It does just warm the heart doesn't it! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds Joy ... love the Ironstone jug pattern by Nancy. I think I have a large pitcher with the same pattern. Will check the mark on it.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Audrey Z.
Oh, I wish I could visit your booth!
ReplyDeleteI can't help but think of the history behind these pieces. Can you imagine the story they would tell if they could talk.
ReplyDeleteLovely ironstone (and coral :)), Joy. I know what your mystery piece is too. I have one, and it is also an integral part of another - completely different - mainstay collection for me - mesh purses. ;)
ReplyDeleteRita C at Panoply

ReplyDeleteHi Joy :)
ReplyDeleteI have a love for ironstone too, but I only have a couple of pieces. I might need to remedy that ;)
I cannot for the life of me guess what the mystery item is. I'm stumped.
xo,
rue
You certainly found lots of lovely items.

ReplyDeleteSorry - I didn't mean to delete that! I was saying how much I love the simple jug next to the gravy boat. I use similar (knock off) jugs to store my fine paint brushes but I'd love to have real Ironstone one day. Thanks for sharing at To Grandma's House We Go. xx
ReplyDeleteOh yes I love ironstone and have sold several pieces however still have lots to enjoy also.
ReplyDeleteI also know what the mystery piece is,I bought one back in 1971 at my first adventure of shopping for antiques. Remember the lady I bought it from in Kentucky
What a great post, Joy--filled with yummy ironstone :) Thanks for linking up your "collection" with us at Vintage Charm!
ReplyDeleteYour pieces are wonderful! Sometimes it is hard to part with some. My biggest thrifting thrill was when I found a set of graduated sizes of pitchers in ironstone. They were the beginning of my love for and collection of ironstone.
ReplyDeleteThese are all so nice. I have a Red Cliff ironstone tureen set. I skipped ahead and found out what the mystery item was. I won't spill the beans here :) It was interesting though. Thank you Joy for sharing this post at the #WednesdayAIMLinkParty. I shared it on Pinterest.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pieces you picked up at the estate sale Joy! Thanks for stopping by and linking up to share with us this week at Brag About It.
