Pictures from past Decembers. The sweetness of a little boy who liked to help.
I find as the years pass that the Christmas Season and the way we observe this season has changed, simplified .
Family traditions have been tweaked over the years so that the past is mixed with the present, oral passing of family history continues, a lot of 'remember when' and ...when I was young... and the additions of what do you remember about ...
We took a day trip on Saturday up country and back on the Fraser Canyon highway just to see some snow and ice.
When we got up Sunday morning we too had more snow, and then MORE snow. I didn't take a picture of the roads and the tire tracks through the piles of snow. By Wednesday most roads were clear but side roads have crunchy and slushy snow on both sides and early in the morning, ice on the driving surfaces. Main roads ok.
Friday it snowed for HOURS, 3 shoveling sessions and we finally got some road salt (every store/service station etc. had NONE until this afternoon).
The older me has learned that hugs and I Love You are the best of presents. Time together is treasured. Memories can be pulled out of the past and savoured.
Making new memories, remembering the old.
Merry Christmas Friends.
