Small Chalkboards
"Free Table" finds at the Thrift Store this week were a rusty flan pan, rusty pie pan and a basket. The wooden cheese board base was an earlier find.
Since I had a bit of Chalkboard paint left the finds became Chalkboards.
Basket now Chalkboard
Tape edges not to be painted
Paint 3 coats of chalkboard paint, drying between
Wash hands and brush immediately after painting each coat (chalkboard paint dries very quickly and is not easy to remove when dry)
Remove tape
Pans and basket after second coat of chalkboard paint
Hangers were added. The cheese board got a zigzag hanger, the flan and pie pans were drilled and wire hangers were added.
Added wire, tools used, drilling then gluing flan pan base to rim. Holes had rough edges and were filed smooth.
Chalking the painted items
After rubbing a piece of chalk over the paint rub the chalk into the boards with your fingers and then clean with a rag. The basket shows the chalk/finger rubbed and clean sequence.

Basket before and after.
Supplies:
Chalkboard paint, brushes, frog tape and newspaper, wire, wire cutter, pointed plier, small file, drill press (or something to make the holes)

Adele influenced words on two chalkboards.
Thanks for visiting.
