The yearly Archbishop Carney High School Garage sale was held on the 24th and 25th of October. We went twice, early the first day and late the second. Good finds both days.
I added 3 vintage hooks to one of my sign boards. The hooks were found years ago and just resurfaced.
My blogging friend Eddie has a good eye. He wrote Consider using a little less space between the two words on your next round. Graphically, it's more interesting and the two texts/fonts interact with each other more. Absolutely right Eddie. I sanded the word Market away and moved Market closer to Super. Thanks Eddie.
Thrifted finds in the pictures below.
The rolling pin is birds eye maple (my favourite wood). I treated the wooden parts with hemp oil. Can you believe that wonderful long handled ice cream scoop, first time I've found one like that. Very vintage.
I love the next grouping, the wire frog makes such a nice contrast to the metal scoops. The plumbers' ladle for melting lead shows its age and the old wooden spool is wrapped with covered wire.
Who could resist an elephant teapot or a vintage Sadler? The plant holder is Blue Mountain Pottery.
Casseroles and a vintage hand beater with green plastic knob and handle plus a vintage blue fridge storage dish. Kitchenware.
What could be sweeter than a Petal Ware Laburnum cup and saucer with a dried hydrangea stem.
Thank you for visiting today.

ReplyDeleteI like the 2 fonts together and I'm glad it was an easy fix.
Love the board and the old hooks. Great art! I am crazy about your finds. It's been a while since I've found anything that didn't cost an arm and a leg.
ReplyDeleteLove your vignettes and your great finds mix so well together. The sign is great and that Eddie has a great eye! Today is my parents Anniversary also even though my Dad has passed Mom says she is still married to him!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
I have that exact blue mountain plant pot sitting on my kitchen window sill with a flower planted in it. They are a little more difficult to find since they were actually used unlike a lot of blue mountain pottery. Cheers and congrats on your anniversary!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! Quite a milestone. Lots of goodies you found.

Happy Anniversary, Joy! 46 years is a major life accomplishment. A few of my siblings have made it that far, and I'm proud of them for it.
ReplyDeleteNice finds you have here. I absolutely love that tiger's eye maple rolling pin. Your sign and wall piece with hooks are nice too.

Happy Anniversary. 46 years is amazing.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad's passing. And I'm sorry that I didn't know, but I'd stopped blogging for almost a month. Prayers for you and yours.

ReplyDeleteYou chose wisely and I am so happy for you both.
Nice finds! Love the sign with the hooks!
ReplyDeleteJoy, My favorite is the yellow tea cup. The board with hooks has inspired me to create my own. I need a set of hooks in my bedroom but I have not found much I really like in the stores. I will go on a search for hooks I love. Thanks. Sylvia
