I have enjoyed how Judy of 20 North Ora shares her garage sale/thrifted finds each week. Vignettes that draw the eye. Visit and enjoy.
Instead of June Thrifted Finds I am changing my title to What I Found This Weekend (for now anyway).
There were some lovely items for sale as we travelled around our town.
The vintage doily needed a tiny repair and since I found my tiny crochet hook all was good. I paired it with my Mom's Silver Birch cup and saucer. Memories.
Feeling a bit of 1950's nostalgia for what I remember of my early childhood home. The pitcher with cherries seems so familiar.
Who could resist a Baby Brownie from Eastman Kodak. I put my hand beside so you could see just how small it is.
I've used the small Edgeworth tin for storing buttons for years and years and then found a larger similar one.
The cheese dish was a sweet find, blends right in with the other patterns of depression glass on my shelves. The hat pins are steel, 10 inches long and would have required a very large hat to use their length.
At first I thought these Stacking Dolls were Brownie and Girl Guide wooden dolls but I think they are the Russian Girls in graduated (by age) uniforms.
Josef makes such pretty Birthday Girls.

At first, my favorite find was the green doily, but then you found so many other fabulous things. By the end, my favorite was the yellow bowl.

Such great treasures at the sales. What did you buy?
ReplyDeleteYou always find neat, and unusual things. I have most of the tools in the garnishing set but never knew they came boxed together at one time.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to Mosaic Monday Joy.
Love those nesting dolls! :)
ReplyDeleteI will have to go with that yellow bowl as my favorite though the blue tin is a close second.
ReplyDeleteI like a post showing what you've found too. I should do that too! LOVE the stacking dolls...how unique! And the little camera is adorable. I still have my Brownie camera that I got with trading stamps when I was young but it's not that small. Great finds! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteWow...you really did find a beautiful lot of things. I am intrigued by the tea cup with the birch tree. I have never seen that design before; it is very pleasing.
ReplyDeleteYou really had a good score, I like the yellow crock myself.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds Joy ... finding the unused Acme Garnishing set is very unusual. Love the yellow bowl too.

ReplyDeleteComing to you from Mosaic Monday. You excellent finds make want to go out searching, but I am trying to focus on addiction: miniatures fro my dollnouse. Love the cheese dish.
ReplyDeleteHi Joy :)
ReplyDeleteYou found such wonderful things. I have to tell you that I have a very small tray that matches your mom's teacup. You can see it in the pictures of this post, on the wall above my spoon collection: http://anoldfashionedworld.blogspot.com/2015/02/my-little-dining-room.html
I've never seen that pattern again until just now :)
Have a great day!

You do find some of the best stuff...I wish i had room as that pitcher, the cheese dish and a few tools would be lovely to have.
ReplyDeleteLovely finds - the Silver Birch tea cup reminds me of one of my aunts who collected the same pattern.

I like to post once a week because some months would have HUGE piles of stuff if I didn't : ) Loving the old kitchen goodies especially the garnish set, why didn't someone ever use it? Sad.
ReplyDeleteOh Joy, your finds are stunning!! My mouth fell open when I saw the tea cup because I once had my eye on the very same one on Ebay....until it sold :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing with Roses of Inspiration. I hope to see you at this weeks party. Hugs!
