Rarely is there a garage sale in December.
Finding a moving sale two Sundays ago was amazing.
Just a couple of pink signs for advertising.
It was more like a neighbour pop up sale.
Best find from that sale was brass,
animals, a dolphin, vases, petal candle holders, birds.
Sunshine on the day I took the photos.
The lion bank has a lovely weight and opens with a screw on the shoulder. I suspect it is a repro but it is charming.

ReplyDeleteGoodness, seeing all your thrifted finds is like browsing our antique barn that is full of treasures. The nut chopper brings back memories of me whacking all the nuts for Christmas baking in one - and what a sore hand I had afterwards!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your thrifted purchases at the weekly Mosaic Monday party and adding to the fun Joy.
All the best for 2015!
What a thrill to find a sale in December! Looks like you got lots of goodies.
ReplyDeleteHappy 2015,
Judy
I have a lion nut cracker that looks very much like your lion. He is handsome. Your amaryllis is lovely, too. Happy New Year to you!!
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE all your blooming flowers in December! What a treat!!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing all your treasures!!! That Big Bird reminded me of how much Amber LOVED Big Bird when she was a little girl!
ReplyDeleteI have missed a couple of thrifting days (Tuesdays) so I will be out there this week with my 4 year old granddaughter. No garage sales around here lately either. Even when we have them - they don't seem to be as good as they used to be. STILL - I will be watching for them!!! You never know.....
i loved seeing all your finds...yes, a garage sale is hard to find in Dec.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blues
Great winter finds! I love all the brass goodies and I had a floor lamp with that same amber shade when I was growing up in the 70s. Pretty bulbs too!
ReplyDeleteGreat things and I especially love the vintage kitchen items. Also that pink creamer? is adorable!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda

ReplyDeleteBlessings,

I love seeing the vintage things wondering what they are or recognizing them and thinking I used to use them or my grandmother did...
ReplyDeleteNice assortment of brass. When we were kids, my dad had a lion bank exactly like this. I do not know what happened to it, but wish I still had it.
ReplyDeleteWhat great kitchen finds. You see so much brass today. People downsizing from 35 years ago. I had brass when I first got married. I see alot of it painted white today. That's what I'd do with it. Lots of fun!
ReplyDeleteWow lots of great finds! I love brass. Somewhere here packed away I have a pair of brass candlestick holders. Many years ago there was a shop in the little town where my mother spent some of her childhood in Victor, Colorado and Cripple Creek, Colorado. It was called the Brass Ass and they had a huge brass donkey at the entrance. Shame it is all casinos these days. This post made me smile. Happy New Year to you and yours. Come visit soon. Hugs, Anne
ReplyDeleteGreat finds Joy ... first of all, I love your December blooms. They look so pretty in your window. I know you enjoy them. You really scored with the collection of brass, which I think is coming back in style. I love the deer and really wanted some to decorate with this year ... well, maybe next year. In fact .... you really found some really neat stuff.
ReplyDeleteHappy new year.
