Holiday Time
The ocean in California
Giant Redwood Trees
Coastal Fog in Oregon
Sweet air from the ocean and thousands and thousands and miles upon miles of trees along the Oregon Coastal highway and up into Washington.
No cooking, laundry or cleaning
DS did all the driving, I read while travelling
Time to not think, plan, work
No dogs to look after, no email
DGS time, swimming, reading, talking, walking, travelling.
Many many long hours and we were back home for 2 1/2 days.Didn't know how much I needed a break
until I got home again.
~~~~~
And then there was more...
We drove to the Okanagan to visit V and P. DGS has had so much fun with Auntie V and has talked up a storm (garden discoveries and water hoses and chasing were also involved).
Many hugs, lots and lots of visiting.
Big change in scenery from Oregon and Washington.
More visiting. Great meals together. Giant tomatoes bigger than two of my fists. Heritage.
Thrifted in towns new to me.
Worth another trip now that I know 'where'.
Sitting on the deck in rocking chairs with more visiting in the dusk and late evening on this bench wrapped in a blanket while the sprinkler watered the cherry tree.
Catching up. It has been 5 years since our last visit.
Thank you DH and DS and P and V.
glad to hear that your blog silence was mostly because you were recreating. Thank you for the report.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a lovely trip. Don't you love thrifting in new territory?
ReplyDeleteI love photos of the ocean. Back in 1982, my hubby and I, along with my parents, drove from San Fran down to LA along the coast. We never saw the ocean because of the fog. It was like that the whole way. Big disappointment. Those mountains look great and those tomatoes...wow! Glad you had a low stress trip with lots of hugs. :-)
ReplyDeleteOH it's wonderful : ) your photos, text, and the sense of enjoyment and relaxation...
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful vacation and to be able to find some treasures along the way too. My treasures would be one of those big ripe tomatoes for a tomato sandwich OR a green one to fry.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your trip with us.
Hugs,
