The heat continues, no complaining.

Nasturtium and Sweet Peas in the bright sunlight
Blueberries
Dahlia and hydrangea
Peas, beans, carrots
Kale, tomatoes and ornamental spinach (over 6 feet tall)
Summer heat is slowing down my desire to paint, to repair, so I am sharing my garden which is another kind of creating.
Last year we had beans and peas that DSG and DH planted and tomato plants I put in for faith and hope. I think I am focusing so much on my garden because of thankfulness that I can do the work this year.

Thanks for visiting.
Just lovely! And I suddenly realized that my dear hubby, in order to save me having to bend over, weeded the zinneas - and pulled up all the nasturtiums I had planted there. Sigh. But let's keep it a secret. It was so nice of him to do the weeding. Summertime is so cheering, isn't it!
ReplyDeleteThe beautiful sights of summer.
ReplyDeleteLovely, wonderful garden. I had sweet peas the last two years. This year I started some seeds and got......ONE. Put it into the fairy garden container where it languished for two months and is just now deciding to grow a little. Weird! :)
ReplyDeleteThat ornamental spinach is amazing...this is the first that I have heard of it or seen it! And blueberries...ah yum / suddenly i want muffins!
I am so thrilled that you are able to work in your flowerbeds and garden this year. It is looking really great! Have a wonderful week!

Hi Joy,
ReplyDeleteThe blueberries are so sweet this year; thanks for sharing this photo. Isn’t it fun finding blues to share?
Happy Blue Monday!
Beautiful garden! My hubby was on a kale kick for a while! Goodness different varieties of it too! Enjoy the week! I came by form Blue Monday.
ReplyDeleteThe heat may be a problem for you but the rain and unseasonably chilly summer is creating other garden problems for me. Nothing is doing well but the weeds and the raspberries! I couldn't work in my garden last year either so I know how much it means to you to be able to get back at it!
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers and blooms of all different colors! You'll be enjoying some fresh veggies soon :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!! How very beautiful everything looks! How I love the big bucket of flowers. I can look at your garden, and your beautiful home all day. It makes me happy!

Lovely flowers! I envy you. Flowers don't do well in mid July in our hot South Texas climate.

Everything looks terrific in your garden. Much of what you show -- sweet peas, broccoli, kale, nasturtiums -- are cool season crops here. It took years for me to learn what grows when.
ReplyDeleteYour sweet peas are amazing... I haven't grown them in' forever' but have fond childhood memories of my mother's in Vermont! Larry
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your lovely post at Home Sweet Garden Party! You are on of this weeks featured posts! I hope you can join us again this week too! It will be open this afternoon at 4pm! {www.creativecountrymom.com} Hugs...Brooke
