I am slowly working up to a bigger piece of furniture where I actually sand off paint to show the colors underneath. I've messed around with chairs and a sanding sponge but a Welsh Cupboard or any number of dressers have remained 'painted not aged'.
This small laminated display shelf has the miniature look of a larger piece without the sheer volume of a cabinet or hutch or china cupboard.
It has been a good project for practicing sanding edges that would have shown age wear. A small shelf with glassed doors for ornaments. This group is from my collection of 1940's era Japanese figures.
Before and after.
The little cabinet had a laminate surface that took well to two coats of CeCeCaldwell Chalk Clay paint. I used Simply White. Its size is about 14" tall by 24" wide.
The inside shelves were painted with CeCeCaldwell Santa Fe Turquoise mixed with Simply White.
CeCeCaldwell Clear wax. I love the short handled wax brush for working in tight spaces.
I did finish scraping the rest of the paint and wax from the windows after I took the photos.
A small piece of furniture.
Thanks for visiting.
See you again on Monday

That certainly took the little cabinet from blah to wow! I hate waxing and I should probably look into proper brushes to make the job a little easier. Well done.
