The ornamental plum tree is blossoming.
Someone that makes my heart sing - DGS - is tall and strong enough to mow the lawn (we share the job) and we no longer 'both' hold the handle and push, he is working solo (yes I am very close by). Sigh. Growing up.
We celebrated at special birthday last week with lots of hugs and a couple of surprises for Grandpa.
Birthdays involve flower shopping and Grandpa almost got orchids (DGS loves orchids).
The parrot tulips grew, the peas are a bit taller, the peony is doing very well as are the rhubarb, weeds and dandelions.
Picked with care and love. They lasted in the house from Friday to Monday night.

Grandchildren are such a joy and a blessing. Your flowers and vegtables are doing o well here in Wisconsin we just now are seeing buds on the trees. Happy Birthday to your Mr.
ReplyDeleteI picked up a white orchid from Lowes yesterday. Going to try my hand at them since the first one is still alive and blooming. How long does a bloom stay on there? It's been months!

You are, flowers picked by any grandchild are treasures. Have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors on those tulips. So intense. And given by a sweet hand. Hope your day is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYou are indeed a lucky grandma. Beautiful photos and post!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to Grandpa, too. I know the grass is more beautiful, and the flowers sweeter when a grandson is involved. I'm enjoying my time as grandma, too. He's adorable!

It's nice to have a good helper with the mowing. And he's so thoughtful too with that lovely bouquet for his Grandma. Pamela
ReplyDeleteYou are a very lucky grandma. That's a wonderful boy to man up mowing the lawn and still love bringing in a bouquet of flowers!
ReplyDeleteYour first photo is fantastic, amazing, stunning! Good to have a little helper on lawn duty. We mowed in 85 degree weather Tuesday; by Thursday it was snowing, and it is still snowing. 50 degree temp. swing. Not loving it! lol

Your lawn is looking amazing for Spring...loved seeing your helper, too!!!
Fondly,
Pat
Love the plum tree! A-1 helper you have!
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice that your grandchild is mowing the lawn. In our neighborhood everyone seems to hire a landscaper. Yes, the grass is cut; but gone are the days of loving caring for the yard. It is what it is.

Love that moss covered tree ... Grandsons grow up too fast. Ours are 20 and 22. The one I kept while his parents worked would always pick the wild flowers for me ... dandelions and wild onions. Love them and they always remind me of him. Good that you have a grandson near to help you.

No one ever told us how wonderful being a Grandma would be! There still are worries, but lots more time to observe the fun! Combine all that with gardening and spring itself...well SUPER! Lovely moments you have shared here!
ReplyDeleteOh, your little helper is daring, and I can see why he is one of your favorite things! So sweet. I love the little hand clutching the bouquet of tulips and jonquils.
ReplyDeleteDropping by from Claudia's blog party to wish you a Happy Weekend.
