Lightweight wicker faux bird cage = possibilities.
CeCeChalkpaint, white roses, bling and spring sunshine.
Frosted pale green, frames and watermarks thanks to PicMonkey.
Found the birdcage at a thrift store last week. I think it is meant to be a display piece, it came with a wicker ring for the top and a long fishline with a cup hook attached.
Painted with brush and sponge (inside was difficult to brush but the sponge worked well) with CeCe Caldwell Simply White Chalkpaint. When you are working with chalkpaint and you want less or even removal of the chalkpaint, most often you can just clean it/wipe the paint off with a damp cloth. Just remember to do that before you wax over the paint.
I wanted to make a photo keepsake. The roses seemed just right to display in the painted wicker bird cage. I used my DGS's baby mug, a metal flower frog, clipped the roses very short and eased them into the small opening. Added a swan paperweight and a silverplate necklace. All thrifted. (The white roses are for my Mom, in memory.)
A memory.

great photographs, Joy. Especially the first one.
ReplyDeleteI love what paint can do to transform, just about anything! This is lovely and the roses such a special touch.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great idea. I have a white, ornamental bird cage that I planned on putting candles in, but the door is too small. Perhaps I'll try roses. My dad loved yellow roses so that would be a happy memory!
ReplyDeleteVery sweet Joy.
