Adding some zing to an old small chalkboard. Traverse City Cherry CeCeCaldwell with Satin Finish on the Frame, and Black Rustoleum Chalkboard paint. And an Angel. Quiet Christmas Decorating.
Vintage kitchen red/metal strip plastic handles, green pot knobs, a
chippy cardinal and a gingerbread boy cookie cutter leaning against the upgraded chalk board.
Original looked pretty worn out. 2 coats of chalk board paint and 2 coats of CeCe Caldwell Traverse City Cherry chalkpaint and finishing with CeCeCaldwell Satin Finish put some zing back into the blah.
Before and After
Mixing vignettes, a vintage crib board and a closer look at the 'handy knob and kettle knob'.
An Angel because we need angels.

A lovely post!! I always enjoy your beautiful photos. I am adding your blog to my 'Favorites' on Explorer....I am missing so MANY of your posts!!! Off now to see some of them!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet idea and transformation. Did you attatch the gingerbread boy to the chalkboard. I love how easy it looks. I need to paint something. Now!
ReplyDeleteLove these "repurposing" arts and crafts projects--and that you've kept with the vintage colors. The chalkboard would be such a great low tech message center.
ReplyDeleteYour stuff is always so creative.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Your angel made my catch my breath - she is lovely
ReplyDeleteGreat make-over Joy. Love that red. So many of the reds are not true red. The vintage knobs and handles are so neat too. I have some of the red handles with the metal strip, but pretty faded.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and Happy Christmas.

Very vintage cute!

ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
Beautiful chalkboard. Love th angels too.
ReplyDeleteVery cute, and love that angel as well. I've never worked with that chalkboard paint before, myself, but have been intrigued with the ideas people come up with.
ReplyDeleteLove the chalkboard makeover. Now I know what to do with some of those cute plastic cookie cutters!
ReplyDeleteI haven't used chalk paint yet! But would love to try it. Wonderful transformation. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas,
Lisa
