2012 Painted Furniture
(my painted projects year in review)
Chalk Paint, Wax and Varithane were on my learning curve this year. Loved learning. Tried out Annie Sloan, CeCe Caldwell and Fat Paint Chalk Paints. Tried recipes for making my own chalk paint.

Wow-- you just might get the "productive" award for 2012! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteThe painting, learning and fixing up is a lot of fun. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI've used Annie Sloan, heard a lot about CeCe Caldwell, have even made my own, but have never heard of Fat Paint? I'm off to Google to learn more about it! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! It's so cool that you're using Fat Paint, my girlfriend distributes it. Oh and that little mirror, I have almost exactly the same one. How funny! I bought it in 1980 something in a tiny town on Lake Huron. I've never seen another one since!
ReplyDeleteLove all your painted projects. Have a great night!
Happy new year!
I just checked & see you're in the Fraser Valley. No wonder you know Fat Paint!! :)
DeleteHi Joy ... you do such a great paint job on your pieces. Nice to see you don't do a lot of heavy sanding to give them the time-worn look. They will get that way soon enough. I have two big pieces that I plan to paint this year and hope it works out good.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year.

ReplyDeleteRemarkable job on all the makeovers.
ReplyDeleteWhat great projects! You did an amazing job on them all! This was my first year using Chalk Paints, too! I haven't tried the Cece Caldwell Paint (not carried locally). I primarily use Annie Sloan, but have also used Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint, and La Craie.
ReplyDeleteNow following your blog! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! :)
Just found you through I Gotta Create and your furniture is great! I'm now following you :-)

ReplyDeleteI love all painted furniture and I am so glad that it is once again becoming fashionable. More and more people are starting to use it in different areas of the home instead of just bedrooms. http://www.paintedfurnitureco.co.uk/
ReplyDeleteAll your furniture turned out beautiful! Thanks for sharing at Knick of Time Tuesday! Please add a link back to the party so you can be featured in the future.

Hi Joy, I really enjoyed looking back at all of your projects. I have used homemade chalk paint and then just this week I painted an old cupboard I had with Annie Sloan Old White. Have not tried the others. Not sure what fat paint is. Did you find that you liked one the best? I agree, it's fun to experiment with different things. I would like to try some milk paint. We are finishing our basement and I have quite a few things I want to paint. Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Jann
Nice work! White is so fresh and bright...definitely great for updating an old wooden piece. The buffet and the painted mirror are by far my favorite...but they all look fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI love all your work, looks great! I'm a new follower ;)
ReplyDeleteNice! I have a paint project in my near future. Never used chalk paint so I am a little nervous. I'll look around and see if you have any tips for me!
