Favourite things; old mixed with renewed.
Thifted small table, ornaments on shelf and scrapbook paper
Royal Winton pink plate, Royal Albert Brigadoon 4 cup teapot
and demi cup and saucer on the top shelf
and Norris characters on the bottom shelf.
Old and cherished treasures that come out of their cupboard occasionally.
There is a project inside this post;
the small table (above) was tired and a bit battered until...
CeCe came along to refresh in Vintage White.
CeCe came along to refresh in Vintage White.
The table was a garage sale find and painting took longer than planned because of the coloured pencil drawing on the drawer and a few small stains that appeared to be oil. The table wasn't very clean so I scrubbed and sanded (with a sponge sanding block) the drawer front, top, legs and shelf before I painted. The first coat was Vintage White CeCeCaldwell paint and as it dried I knew Kilz was going to be next, then I painted two more coats of Vintage White and two coats of (CeCe) Satin Finish wax.
Small table, with each finish used (including green masking tape).
Lined the drawer with a piece of scrapbook paper.
Here is the before and after comparison.
A sturdy little lamp or display table or perhaps just right for a coffee mug and somewhere to keep the books you are reading.
I used CeCe paint because some kind ladies opened a booth with their blog Welcome Home Decor in our local Home Hardware store. and they carry all of the CeCeCaldwell Paint and supplies. Discovered them first at The Olde Farmhouse Vintage Market in June.

The small table looks beautiful with the new color...and I love the teapot. Very lovely!
ReplyDeleteVery nicely done! It turned out great - and the drawer pull looks so unique - it adds a special touch to what was a boring table until you worked some magic on it!
ReplyDeleteYou did a really cool job! I am doing a table redo myself! I hope you could party with us at

What a transformation. Love the new color...Balisha
ReplyDeleteThis is such a sweet little table and love the vignette! I am encouraged to find a little night stand now and paint it! hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteIt is all just lovely. I especially love the little table. My niece sells CeCe Caldwell paints at her little shop, Rosy Revival. She also gives old furniture new life by refinishing pieces with this wonderful paint.
ReplyDeleteWonderful re-do... I love how the hardware stands out now. :)
ReplyDeleteYour table looks so good now and I love the idea of using scrapbook paper for a lining! I am definitely going to steal that idea!! I also enjoyed seeing your heron plaques. Linda
ReplyDeleteNice piece would fit in as it isn't to large a lot of work cleaning and painting, an Artist's work is never done! Those Norris characters are sure nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing this inspiring post on Simple & Sweet Fridays. Love how it turned out!

So very nicely done, a love the size of the table, in my small home these work well. Great idea to use scrapbook paper, I'll have to try that myself. Thanks for sharing your creative inspiration with Sunday’s Best – you helped make the party a success! PS - following you on Linky!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little table -- sometimes it takes a bit of elbow grease but it was certainly worth it with this cute table! Love the drawer liner; it's just the right touch of elegance!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your project! We featured this on KILZ Brands facebook page. Here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/KILZBrand
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice job! Totally renewed. Thanks for sharing with my party.
ReplyDeleteLovely little table. And it looks much better now that you've put your touch on it. The drawer pull is so funky. I just found you through Debbiedoo's. I'm your newest follower. I'd love it if you'd follow me back at www.crazythriftycrafts.blogspot.com. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI just used CeCe caldwell paint for the first time recently. For some reason I though it would cover really well but was disappointed when it didn't--so I'm heartened to read that your table took 3 coats! I did love how easy it was to sand the paint, though.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Brigadoon...one of my favorite RA patterns! And your tables turned out beautifully! Over from VTT.

Great job on the table. It's always amazing to me what a coat (or two) of paint can do! Also, the pattern on the china is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThe table looks lovely, Joy. Much improved by that paint. And you've arranged such beautiful things on it. That teapot and cup are so pretty, especially against the pink of that plate. And I love those characters on the bottom shelf!
ReplyDeleteCute, cute little table. Especially love the scrapbook paper in the drawer, a sweet little surprise. -Angela
