Duck Hunter Oil Painting

If you haven't tried PicMonkey yet click over to Mockingbird Hill Cottage - Claudia has written a guided tour Blogging Tips - PicMonkey.

Continuing with the Church Sale finds from last weekend. There were several oil paintings and etchings at this sale, all very vintage and quite a bit older. It was not easy to pass up original art works. I bought two oil paintings. The first was a smaller framed oil painting you see below. The second is a very large European themed river, islands and land scenic.

This one - no signature. I am guessing maybe it was painted as a magazine illustration. Frame was dark. Foxed canvas (spotty back). I am in love with it and it isn't even a theme I like. Takes me back to my younger years when I was a 'painter' for awhile. The reason I am suspecting that it was painted as an illustration is because the painting has bare canvas on several areas of the perimeter.

Close up details - ducks, shore grass and the faceless hatted hunter
Frame, canvas, nails and foxed details. Painter built canvas.

Great little painting. It looks really old but no signature or date? Is "Concentration" what you have named it?
