Take one old pop box painted a muddy brown
remove the wasp/bee and wipe box down
with a damp cloth until more or less clean
paint Annie Sloan Chalk Paint - Versaille (green)
let it dry overnight (ran out of time, could have dried a couple of hours)
take a sanding sponge and make some wear and tear
clean up your mess
cover all surfaces with clear wax
let it dry for awhile
cover all surfaces with dark wax
let that dry a bit too
Take an old dish cloth and buff and buff some more
Aaaah.

ReplyDeleteGreat job Joy! Also love your pie safe on another post. I found a picture on my vintage dresser dating back to the late 40's. I love when that happens!
ReplyDeleteYes, the doors were a lot of repetitive steps but I loved doing it. The problem was hopping around on one leg and the pain from standing. I endure...
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Joy!
ReplyDeleteThat turned out nice... what are you going to do with it? I bet not store "pop" ;)
I am afraid that the ASP craze will be over and done with before I get around to painting anything. Btw, that is one of my favorite shades of green. That and the old "kitchen utensil" green.
