They ended up in my Welsh Dresser, expanded over to the dresser beside it, and migrated to the little green desk, all in the kitchen. The drawers became full, heavy and I worried about permanent damage to the various pieces of furniture. Nails, bits, screws, hooks and so much more small sharp stuff all intermixed.

What did I do? Normal sorting, jars for nails and screws. boxes for drills and bits. baskets for handles and hinges and misc. metal stuff. Picture hanging and hooks grouped, screwdrivers in their own bin, pliers, small clamps, nail removers, stud finders, small levels, tape measure... all grouped, drawers labeled to help us find a tool quickly.
No cost. It was one of those jobs I though would take days of fussy work. 2 hours including a coffee break. Done. I am finding these picky jobs easier to handle when I know I am going to write a post about them, motivation.
Wow! You are really getting organized!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! I have a couple of drawers like that....one or two in my kitchen, my bathroom, my bedroom, my office.... no, really... I promise I'm not a packrat! Organizing them is a job that I'll need to tackle soon myself. Great job and getting your task accomplished with little or no fuss!
ReplyDeleteI love to organize.! I think I could do it as a profession. Of course, you wouldn't believe me if you looked inside my cottage right about now. ;)
ReplyDeleteYour comment about being motivated to "get 'er done" to post about it was so funny! I think we all feel that way at times.
Thanks for joining Time Travel Thursday. I hope you'll join the fun each week.
Blessings,
Liz @ The Brambleberry Cottage

That hammer looks just like mine! LOL! And I know what you mean..blogging motivates me to get things done so I have something to blog about otherwise I would probably be a vegetable! Ha! Ha!
ReplyDeleteHow did you do your labels? Looks like you printed them out on your computer with a sheet of labels...I don't know how to do that. I would love to learn though! I see a tutorial in your future. Looks great!
I bought one of those great big tool bags but it is like a giant purse and again BLACK inside! What is up with that? Who can see anything in the dark!
Now that's organized! Thank you for sharing your wonderful post at Potpourri Friday!
