Today (well, I started yesterday) I tried my first 'white' spray painting. First thing I learned after the fact was to cover the surface with paper.
The second thing I learned was that I was glad I followed the advice of other bloggers who shared their tips on spraying - light, several layers, keep the sprayer moving. I was quite happy with the results. I forgot to take a clear 'before' picture of the faux bird cage - it had a fake pussy willow branch, several faux roses and leaves and a plastic cupid's head hot glued to various areas, and a roof sprayed with sandy sparkle stuff. I put it in my booth for two weeks until my friend D saw it and said "out, remove the decorations, paint it white".
So, I sprayed the bird cage and the ceramic bird white. Several light layers. I'm happy.

I really should have dusted the cage first though, I have lots of white dust between the wire sides.
It turned out really well. Loving the little bird! hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda. Now to think up the next project.

That's too funny! I would have done the same thing--painted it and then realized it needed dusting. It looks great though. I love that bird.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue - I was so glad to finally find this shape of bird at a garage sale, I've been waiting to try spray painting (saw it done on a couple of blogs).
