Stencilled Board With Hooks

Quick project.

Supplies I used:

A piece of fence board, sanded
Arrow stencil
Collect stencil
paint brush
Masking tape
clean rag for dabbing stencil paint 'dry'
Beckley Coal Chalk-clay paint
Chalk-clay paint (1 T paint, 1 T water to make a wash,
                            change measurements as needed)
CeCe Caldwell Simply white chalk-clay paint + small dish + water
Sponge brush
hooks and screws + screwdriver

How:

Make a white wash to the consistency you want. Placed arrow stencil on board, held firmly and added wash around the stencil. Let it dry.

Used the word COLLECT (from Collectibles stencil) and added to board (Beckley Coal + sponge brush), held sign firmly in place while dabbing. Let it dry. Remember - use a very dry sponge brush (dab excess paint off onto scrap of cloth).

I added a very thin wash over the word 'COLLECT' to tone in down.

DH added the hooks (he also cut the board).

Motivation - garage sale hooks. Cost $2.00 for hooks. Rest of supplies were 'on hand'. Note that holes have been drilled so the sign can be screwed into a wall/etc.
