A Favorite Thing

I am grateful that I had the freedom and time and silence to work on my paperwork without interruptions.

Sorta, necessary, 'have to do but put it off' not so favorite thing.

I am a reseller in an Antiques Mall which many of my blog friends already know.

Thank you (again) Centsational Girl for providing a tutorial here for using Pixlr Express to make an overlay for a title.

Tax season is approaching. Its been a looong week of dealing with 'I am so behind in record keeping' paper work.

The good thing is this is what I can glance at while I am working.

First I had to take off all sold inventory (and I was behind 7 months in taking inventory off). Worked on it number by number, hour after hour, day after day and its finished to end of November. (December sales accounts haven't arrived yet.) Note to self - take inventory off each month (used to do that but didn't this year, stuff happened). Didn't take any pictures.

Next - sorted all business receipts by month, entered into an Accounting program. Filed receipts in envelopes by month. Love seeing an empty receipts basket.

Then - 'all removed stock tags' had to be sorted by number code and removed from stock inventory, one by one. I first sorted them by 'same code' which speeds up removal. The removed stock has been donated to charity shops.

Not finished yet but getting there.

An organized beginning for getting the tax paperwork organized for the accountant. Still a lot of numbers to collect, record and put into the correct categories.

Last January (my word of 2012 was Organization) I wrote a post about Labels.

  4. Ha! Organization is always my intention and yet I never seem to get there. I'm sure the process would be easier if done monthly but thankfully you've pretty much caught up and can breathe a sigh of relief. It's a whole new year to get organized. :) Best wishes, Tammy

  8. Oh, goodness. You are doing the kind of work that makes me crazy. But it must be done! You can do overlays like the one you used here on PicMonkey as well.

Thanks so much for joining in this week!

  13. Hi Joy ... I know what you are going through. That is why I quit my business. Just did not want to worry with all that record keeping anymore. I miss it, but am happy to be free of the worry. You seem to be organized enough to keep things straight.
    Blessings, my friend.
