1940's National Egg Grading Scale

This National Egg Grading Scale is from the 1940's era. Canadian Egg Regulations required that eggs for sale in stores were weighed to meet the standards of the day.
This is the second scale to come my way in several years. Came from a family garage sale where the grandchildren were helping out, grandma was supervising and running the show and a great many family members had dropped in with more stuff to sell.
Looked like a big family party was about ready to begin. Great Grandma had moved into a retirement community and after family took what they liked she had told them to sell cheap. Others in the family had priced their things.
Best real garage sale I've been to this year. Fun, cheap, lots of good stuff and a happy group of people.

  4. I've got an egg scale posted among my chickens on Friday's post - different than your egg scale. There are so many different types of them, and I wonder if some were for big egg producers, and other types for smaller farms? pretty neat.

  5. Well, isn't this the coolest thing? If I ever see one now I'll know what it is! It's always so much more fun when you hit a garage sale with nice folks, isn't it? TFS!
