Vintage Wooden Duck Decoy

Friends brought over this great wooden duck decoy (loaner), it is as real as it every gets in the 'looking for great old stuff' so many of us love, the worn paint, the great colours that remain, the patina, sigh.
I love the shape and feel, the detailing and the beady eyes, such a broad range of faded colours.
The base has the original owner's initials VM on the metal weighted base. The Decoy doesn't sit flat so I used an old sealer rim for balance.
You might guess that this is part of a vignette on my trusty old Welsh Dresser. More pictures another day of the rest of an early autumn is in the air changes.
This week has been full with back to school clothes shopping, new soccer shoes (DGS grew this summer !!), school hair cut done. Papers are delivered for the week. Tomorrow the rest of the jeans and shirts and shoes for school. Next week one last camp - a soccer morning camp all week and then ... Grade 4.
