Chalkboard Painted Vintage Tray

Found the right tray for making a blackboard. Round, good base, interesting.
The tray with 6 coats of chalkboard paint. It has to dry for a couple of days before rubbing it all over with white chalk to finish the prep for a chalk board.
Supplies ready, before- and the finished after.
The wicker frame has great natural vintage wear.
Tray with one coat of paint, with supplies and after final (6th) coat.
I was reading Inspired by Charm: Dining Room Shelves post where Michael (who owns/runs a bed and breakfast) put up two wall shelves over a dresser and proceeded to make two separate uses - one as a summer lemonade centre and one as a coffee centre. I looked at the tray and decided to paint it with chalkboard paint and try out several different vignettes. Not at all the same as his but satisfying.

  9. Good morning Joy ... love the tray and your different vignettes. I have lots of trays I wanted to do mosaic, but never did, so must make chalk boards before that goes out of style. Thank for the inspiration.

  13. I love, love, love the wooden wicker tray painted with the chalkboard paint. Very cute vignette. I think it was you that told me you had a friend name Dangerfield and they were researching their name? I wanted to comment back and couldn't find the post! Anyway, Thelma Dangerfield's was just a made up name for my mom's antique shop. Kind of disappointing as I would have loved to be a Dangerfield!!! :)
