Garden Art Peeks

Today it was time to work in the front yard - mowed the very small lawn area, weed-wacked, used the leaf blower for the first time (only bought it five years ago), weeded, cut back the plants that were finished, bagged the cuttings and weeds,
harvested the oriental poppy heads.
Was gifted with a very well used tool box that wanted to become a plant holder.
This is the first time I've cut the poppy plants back before they dried out so
I don't know if the seeds will be any good, but I am going to dry them out and see.
There are two colours, traditional orange and a peachy pink
and the two sets of seed pods are quite distinct.
The hydrangea is full of future blue flowers, the peony offered a small bud unfurled and I have forgotten the name of the purple/blue flower.
Update, Jann Olson from Have A Daily Cup of Mrs. Olson identified the purple flower - it is a bell flower in the Campanula family. Thanks Jann.
A peek at some of the yard decorations - the fairy was a gift (won at a bowling draw many years ago) from my DS. The Lion fountain piece was from my MIL a very long time ago. The black fish and child ornament is part of a fountain (and was found at a garage sale). The rocks against the peeling painted post were from a drive to Lytton.
The tin tool box has great wear and rust, just what I was looking for. I think it will be filled with potted plants to give some colour to the front flower bed now that the poppies and cornflowers are finished.

I framed with PicMonkey Sketchedy (they recently added it to their frames).

  13. Your garden is looking so beautiful. I cut the poppy heads and just put them in a bowl to dry out. Do not put them in a baggie or they will mold. They dry just fine and you have lots of little shakers. Your yard art is so fun. I love a bit of whimsey in the garden. The purple flower is a bell flower in the Campanula family. I recently acquired to old tackle boxes from a neighbor. I planted one with Sedums and it's filling in nicely. I have the same yellow flower as you in your bottom mosaic. I can't remember the name of it. Thanks so much for sharing all of your beauty with Share Your Cup.
    Hugs,
    Jann
