Vintage Paint - Weathered Totems

The beauty in the weathered paint colors on this totem collage fits in with the wonderful use of paint that can be seen on the repurposed furniture shown on so many blogs and in so many collectibles malls in individual booths. The brighter colors on these totems reminded me of Miss Mustard Seed's Union Jack dresser.

Faded, sanded, rubbed, layered, waxed. Painted furniture.
Miss Mustard Seed has provided many before and after examples on her blog. Sissie's Shabby Cottage is also a photo resource for before, during and after furniture repurposing.

  1. I CAN'T GET OVER HOW APPEALING THE PHOTO COLLAGE IS. YOU ARE LETTING YOUR ARTISTIC TALENTS FLOW THESE DAYS AND THAT'S FANTASTIC. Rob

  3. These really are beautiful muted color tones...I enjoyed seeing the great Union Jack dresser, too!

  4. Hey, you changed your header!! I like it!! So funny how we try and capture the weathered look on furniture....I'm very guilty of that too, wonder why that is such a trend? Thanks for sharing!

  5. Hi Lisa - I am having a lot of fun working on my header. Getting closer to what I want but still a few things to learn/figure out. Loving collages.

Thanks Linda. I wanted to keep adding photos from the museum, but I am restraining myself. I really try to mostly keep my blog photos limited to what I have in my own collections and what I've found out thrifting.
